THE FIGHT AGAINST POVERTY

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" Matthew 19:14
The fight against poverty requires actions and solutions to be implemented in all areas of society.
Poverty can be reduced through policies that promote responsible government, access to education and training.
We believe in ensuring equal opportunities for children, girls, adolescents, youth, women, the neediest communities, and indigenous people. It is important that all of us take responsibility and become part of the solution.
Kushis Winaykan works improve the quality of life of children, their families, and communities through development and community organization.
We are now in our second year of strengthening education and support to over 150 children and adolescents in Huanuco.
We believe that access to quality education will help serve as a catalyst to improve the lives of individuals in the community.
We need your support to continue this work! Whether by means of financial support, clothing, food, visits to the community, and prayers in whatever way you can help it is important to us and the community!
We continue WORKING! .
With hope, Rachel, Sheyla, Yenny, Cathia and the entire team Kushis Winaykan.

LOVE FOR PERU
.
The children come to us and fill us with hugs and kisses. In honour of the month of Independence the lesson focus on the history and regions in Peru. The children anxiously learn and are captivated by the experience. This week we will learn about the coastal region of Peru, which stretches from north to south of our territory stuck Pacific Ocean, it's time to colorize, see many figures of animals and foods of this region, play and let your imagination!.
Carolina, one of the teachers and has a very contagious laughter, works primarily with the smallest of the children. She tends to the need of each of the youngster with great patience, helps them do their craft, and later leads everyone out to play. Raquel teaches with great dedication and charisma to the larger group, children from 6 to 8 years. She challenges the children to discover the names of animals, food and everything that can be found in Peru. .
Bilha, teaches the adolescents and teenagers, definitely the most difficult age group to work with, however, she knows very well how to motivate and encourage team work. Despite the poor conditions of the courtyard where the class takes no time is lost as both the students and teachers desire to learn and share about Peru. Throughout the classes it is evident there is a truth and living faith in God and an understanding that whatever the obstacles things will work out for those who work hard and trust in God..
Sheyla has been cooking for hours over the wood stove to prepare a delicious lunch the over 100 children who attend the Saturday classes. The children enjoy their cup of milk and bread with eggs. Unfortunately for most of them this is the best food they will receive during the week and not slow to finish, and the fruit has also been shared. ..
While I dismissed each of the children and adolescents, I think of all the dreams that each has in their hearts, I think of all the difficult circumstances they face inside and outside the home, I think of the need for this work we started Kushis Winaykan over a year and a half ago in el cerrito Leoncio Prado in Huanuco. I know that with God’s help we will not stop, but we will continue to follow His Call and work to help all people, because it is possible for both Peru and the entire world to improve. 023-301974632 - 9

WORK FOR LOVE!
It is often said that people see what to do, but God sees it WHY we do. The Apostle Paul explains how we should view things in 2 Corinthians 4:18 - So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
.
Every class I have also learned many lessons from those little children that show up in the classes. I truly love this Ministry.Almost twenty people we lead up to each teacher, twenty little people who have a very special way of expressing their feelings. Some jump and run when they see us, we hug and embrace each giving us a heart felt welcome. Yesterday, for example one of children, invited my sister and I for ice cream soother, and despite the grave poverty his heart overflowed with love and compassion for us. There was how to say NO to that child, if his offer was showing us love and trust because she knew that did not reject the pacifier that he gave us ice cream was almost tasteless because it had taken so small that you immediately remove the taste, I'd say it was a very special pacifier which invited us and that we mentioned a while returned home.
From the tenderness of Mary's smile and her cousin Graciela, to the tranquility and innocence of Query, and the seriousness of little Gino and Daniel, we all have all learned something every Saturday. Today I'm seeing their pictures and remembering how much all of them mean to me, and how at the start I was unsure if this was right for me. Now I just let the love of Jesus take me to that special place. I must say that the Lord opened a door in our lives, that door that we enter is possible, real and above all to discover the heart of the Teacher in the most needy, and we are confident that He will continue in task of seeing so many little children "Growing Happy.".

KUSHIS WINAYKAN IN ACTION
From the 12th till the 17th of January we received six university students from the CIMA-Peru conference to help out with the work here in Huanuco. The group of students traveled to Huanuco for a week of Vacation Bible School which served as the start of the new year of work for Kushis.
During the week of vacation bible school, more than a 120 children in the community participated in the daily classes. The major themes of the week were: a real relation ship with God and the importance of friendship. These lessons and themes were taught through games, drawing, singing, and having a fun time.
We would like to share with you the thoughts of Brith Casanova, one of the students who helped out during the week:
"I never imagined were God would take us in following His Word and His Will. When, when I reached Huanuco, I could see and understand the context, the needs of people and especially the needs of the children. During this week of service I have had an extraordinary experience. The first day it was hard for me to understand all the work with children, but little by little, God was speaking and understanding flourished, we saw hope in the small faces and arms outstretched waiting for a hug. In Huanuco, a small place in the world, there really is a great need and it is time we act."
2009 Kushis Winaykan for this to work with 150 children in two major areas:
Scholastic Reinforcement: Focusing on Spanish understanding and math
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Bible Study: Every Saturday
During the week the team of volunteers meets periodically to prepare the materials and visit the children in their house. We ask for your prayers for all of the team this year that they will have the energy, resources, and time to give the attention and caring that every child deserves
